What is Woodwards Gripe Water
Woodward's gripe water is both an antiacid and antiflatulent. Due to trapped air in the tummy it is used to alleviate griping pressure or waves of extreme abdominal pain in babies. It can be given to babies aged 1 to 12 months. Woodward's gripe water provides consistent relief from the stomach pain caused in children and babies by gas, indigestion, and acidity.
Can I buy Woodward’s Gripe Water online?

What dose should I choose?
Woodward’s gripe water is only for babies aged from 1 to 12 months old.
For babies 1 to 6 months old: give one 5ml spoonful.
For babies 6 to 12 months old: give two 5ml spoonfuls.
Give the Woodward’s gripe water during or after feeding.
Do not use Woodward’s Gripe water more than 6 times in 24 hours.
Gripe water may be prescribed as a remedy for digestive issues by a doctor. However, it should never be given in large quantities to a baby or used as a dietary substitute.
How effective is Woodward’s Gripe Water?
Woodward’s gripe water is an effective way of treating and controlling indigestion, acidity and gas in infants. Sodium Bicarbonate (active ingredient of Woodward's gripe water) has been scientifically tested and proven to be highly effective in neutralizing acidity in babie's stomach.
How does Woodward’s Gripe Water work?
Mothers and nannies first used the original gripe water in the 1850s. It contained alcohol as it was believed it made babies relaxed. Of course, modern science suggests that giving alcohol to babies can be toxic. In recent times, it is believed that liquorice, dill, ginger and fennel in Gripe Water help to relieve gas and stomach discomfort. Some experts believe that it might be effective simply because it tastes sweet.
How long should a baby take Woodward’s Gripe Water for before I notice a difference?
Woodward’s Gripe Water should be given to babies when they cry. Woodward’s gripe water should not be provided more than 6 times in 24 hours. If, after giving 6 doses of Woodward’s gripe water, a baby does not relax, then speak to a paediatrician or doctor.
