What is Irritable bowel syndrome?

Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a functional gastrointestinal disorder characterised by a group of symptoms, including abdominal pain and inconsistency of bowel movements. It is a common disorder that primarily affects the large intestine and the digestive system of a person's body.
