What is Full Marks
Full marks is an over-the-counter medication in children over two years of age and adults for head lice. This is a fast-acting treatment, which includes active ingredients such as cyclomethicone and isopropyl myristate. They kill the lice by binding, smothering and dehydrating them.
Can I buy Full marks online?
Full marks do not require a prescription, although you are very welcome to book an appointment with a health expert at Click Pharmacy to discuss how best to use this product. Each unit of Full marks contains a 100ml of product enough for the first and second treatment. Therefore, you can choose to buy one unit or multiple packs since the application varies with the length of hair. Full marks is available online in multiple quantities and will be sent directly to you by Next Day Delivery.
How effective is Full marks?
Full marks is clinically tested and proven to work faster than any other head lice treatment, as it only to takes five minutes for the medication to work effectively. Since it does not work by poisoning, as traditional pesticides do, the head lice cannot develop a resistance to it.
Nonetheless, although it is a non-prescription medication, adherence to instructions and careful application is required for positive results.
What dose should I choose?
Full marks should be reapplied after the first treatment to get rid of the lice that might’ve hatched from the eggs left behind. The solution only takes five minutes to kill lice, after which you should follow up with a nit comb provided to remove the eggs that may be attached on the hair shafts. Full marks is a treatment recommended for adults and children with over two years of age.
How should I take Full Marks?
With a towel or any rug placed under your shoulders, apply the solution on dry hair. Apply caution, as the product can stain your clothes.
Ensuring that you do not inhale the solution or get it in your eyes, nose or mouth, carefully massage the treatment, coating each strand until your hair is saturated.
Allow the product to stay in your hair for five minutes then use the comb provided in the package to remove the dead lice and eggs. To remove the eggs effectively, separate your hair in four sections. Take a small part of hair from the first quarter and comb through using the "nit" comb. Ensure that you comb from scalp to the tip of the hair. Rinse off the comb after each stroke and wipe it off. Do this until you have combed through all four sections of your hair, ensuring that once you are done with a section, you comb it away from the areas you have yet to nitpick.
Upon completion, wash the hair with a non-conditioning shampoo. Do this several times until the hair is rid of all the solution. Dry the hair and repeat this process after seven days.
Always remember to apply shampoo on dry hair instead of wet hair.
Treat all family members infested with the lice on the same day.
How does Full marks work?
Full marks contain two active ingredients known as cyclomethicone and isopropyl myristate. These ingredients work by sealing, smothering and dehydrating the lice, thus killing them. Treatment only takes five minutes, and it is reapplied again after seven days from the first application.
Although Full marks is a toxic and chemical-free treatment, it should only be used by adults and children over the age of two years.
How long do I take Full marks for before I notice a difference?
Full marks is a fast-acting treatment against head lice, and it only takes five minutes to kill head lice. For practical use, the second treatment should be reapplied seven days from the first treatment to kill any lice that may have been hatched from the eggs left on the hair during the first treatment.
What are the side effects of Full Marks?
If the solution comes into contact with skin, one might experience some irritation. Hence if this happens, wash immediately with warm water. If the sensitivity continues, seek help from a pharmacist or a doctor. No information is provided as to whether Full marks solution can cause any harmful side effects to be pregnant or breastfeeding mothers.
Regardless it is always best to speak to your doctor or consult our specialists at Click Pharmacy should you require any further advice.
When shouldn’t I take Full marks?
Do not begin this treatment if you are hypersensitive to the active ingredients or any other ingredients listed on the product.
Full marks is also not meant to children under the age of two years.
What is the difference between Full marks and Hedrin Lotion /Hedrin Once Spray Gel?
All these products contain silicone as an active ingredient, but they differ in the time it takes before you can see results.
Full marks take five minutes to kill head and lice, but you have to nitpick the lice eggs to avoid further infestation manually. The treatment is then reapplied after seven days to eradicate any lice that may have hatched between the first and second treatment.
Hedrin Lotion, in the same way, has to be reapplied for effectiveness. But unlike Full marks, which take only five minutes to kill the head lice, Hedrin lotion takes at least eight hours or overnight to get rid of the lice. The second treatment is required to get rid of the newly hatched lice.
As for Hedrin Once Spray Gel, it has an added ingredient known as perenol, which acts by penetrating the louse eggs. Hence, it is a one-time application and takes 15 minutes to kill both head lice and eggs.
How long does it take to notice an improvement?
You should notice an improvement after the first use. However for maximum effectiveness you should repeat the process after seven days.
Can I use other medication to treat head lice?
It is generally safe to use other medication to treat head lice while using Full Marks Solution. However it is advised to consult with a GP or pharmacist before combining different medications for the same treatment.
You are unlikely to experience any side effects from using Full Marks Solution to treat head lice. If you experience any side effects such as irritation, itching, redness, stinging, burning, bleeding, or peeling of skin then you may be experiencing an allergic reaction. In this case you should stop using Full Marks Solution and seek medical advice as soon as possible.
Always read the patient information leaflet before starting your treatment. The patient information can be found here.
