What is Ryaltris Nasal Spray?
Ryaltris Nasal Spray is a prescription treatment used to relieve symptoms of seasonal allergies, including hay fever symptoms, and year-round allergic rhinitis. It contains two active ingredients olopatadine hydrochloride (an antihistamine) and mometasone furoate (a corticosteroid).
How does Ryaltris Nasal Spray work?
Ryaltris Nasal Spray contains two active ingredients, olopatadine hydrochloride and mometasone furoate, to target allergy symptoms in two ways.
- Olopatadine hydrochloride is an antihistamine that blocks histamine, the chemical responsible for allergic symptoms such as sneezing, itching, and a runny nose.
- Mometasone furoate is a corticosteroid that reduces inflammation inside the nasal passages, easing swelling and congestion.
By treating both the allergic reaction and inflammation, Ryaltris provides fast and long-lasting relief from hay fever and year-round allergic rhinitis.
Ryaltris ingredients
The active substances are: mometasone furoate (as monohydrate) and olopatadine (as hydrochloride).
The other ingredients are: microcrystalline cellulose (E460), carmellose sodium (E 466), dibasic sodium phosphate heptahydrate (E 339), sodium chloride, benzalkonium chloride, disodium edetate, polysorbate 80 (E 433), hydrochloric acid (E 507), sodium hydroxide (E 524) and water for injections.

How to use Ryaltris nasal spray
- Shake the bottle for about 10 seconds before each use (morning and evening).
- Remove the cap and prime the bottle by pumping the spray 2 times if it’s your first time using it or if it hasn’t been used for 2 weeks, pressing until you see a fine mist.
- Gently blow your nose to clear your nostrils.
- Close one nostril with your finger and place the spray tip into the other nostril, pointing slightly outward.
- Tilt your head forward a little, press down on the spray, and sniff in gently at the same time.
- Breathe out through your mouth.
- Repeat for the second spray in the same nostril, then do the same steps for the other nostril.
Side effects of Ryaltris nasal spray
Ryaltris nasal spray can cause side effects, although not everyone will get them. Common side effects may include:
- Nasal discomfort or irritation
- Sneezing
- Nosebleeds
- Altered sense of taste
- Headache
- Cough or throat irritation

Ryaltris warnings
Before using Ryaltris, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you:
- Have recently had nasal surgery or injury, as healing may be delayed.
- Suffer from frequent or long-lasting nasal infections.
- Have eye problems such as glaucoma or cataracts.
- Are taking other medicines that may cause drowsiness.
- Are pregnant, planning a pregnancy, or breastfeeding — your doctor will weigh the benefits and risks.
Avoid driving or operating machinery if you feel sleepy or dizzy after use. Use only as prescribed. Do not exceed the recommended dose.
Ryaltris interact with other medicines
Tell your doctor if you are using other steroid medicines for allergies (by mouth, injection, nasal spray, or eye drops) or other antihistamines, as you may need to stop them when starting Ryaltris.
Some medicines, such as certain HIV treatments (e.g., ritonavir, cobicistat), can increase the effects of Ryaltris, so your doctor may need to monitor you more closely.
Pregnant or breastfeeding
If you are pregnant, or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before using Ryaltris. If you are breastfeeding, speak to your healthcare provider to ensure it is safe for you and your baby.
