Chlorphenamine tablets are an antihistamine medicine used to relieve symptoms of allergies, hay fever, pet allergies, insect bites, and the common cold. They help reduce sneezing, runny nose, watery eyes, and itching by blocking the effects of histamine, a natural substance that the body produces during an allergic reaction.
- Always take chlorphenamine tablets exactly as directed on the packaging or by your pharmacist/doctor.
- Swallow the tablets with water.
- Adults and children over 12 years: usually one tablet every 4–6 hours, with a maximum of six tablets in 24 hours.
- Children under 12: should only take if advised by a doctor or pharmacist.
- Do not take more than the recommended dose.
- Chlorphenamine may cause drowsiness; avoid driving, operating machinery, or drinking alcohol while taking it.
- Do not take if you are allergic to chlorphenamine or any other ingredients in the tablets.
- Consult your doctor before use if you have conditions such as asthma, epilepsy, glaucoma, or an enlarged prostate.
- Speak to your doctor or pharmacist if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or taking other medicines, as interactions may occur.
- Keep out of reach of children and store in a cool, dry place.
