What is Care Simple Linctus Paediatric
Simple Linctus is a demulcent cough syrup used to treat dry, tickly coughs. The Citric Acid Monohydrate coats the throat in a calming, protective balm and cure irritation brought on by extreme coughing.

The oral solution works by coating the throat, and the Citric Acid Monohydrate reduces the urge to cough. The syrup coats the throat reducing the irritation from excessive coughing. It gets to work right after the first dosage.
What dose should I take?
Children's Dosage:
1 to 5 years: Give one 5ml spoonful.
6 to 12 years: Give two 5ml spoonfuls.
Repeat up to four times a day if necessary.
How to take Simple Linctus?
Shake the bottle. Only use a medicine spoon, medicine cup or oral solution syringe. Do not use a kitchen teaspoon; this will not be suitable for measuring exact amounts and will result in overdosing. It is only intended to be taken orally or by mouth.
Measure out the dosage and repeat up to four times per day.
Keep Simple Linctus in a cupboard at no higher 25 degrees C. Keep away from heat and direct sunlight. Simple Linctus does not need to be refrigerated. Keep Simple Linctus in the same bottle you bought it in.
Do not use two months after opening Simple Linctus or past the expiry date. The expiry date is the last day of the month on the bottle.
Unused Simple Linctus cannot be disposed of in the toilet or down the kitchen sink. As with all medicines, it cannot be thrown away in the bin. Bring all unused medicine to your local pharmacy for safe disposal.
How long can Simple Linctus be taken?
Coughs are caused by a variety of different things; for example, a dry cough is most likely the result of a cold or hayfever. Your dry cough should clear up within three weeks, and Simple Linctus can be taken throughout this time.
Simple Linctus provides immediate relief for your dry, tickly cough from the first dose.
If your dry, tickly cough does not clear up within three weeks, seek medical advice from a doctor or Click Pharmacy medical professional.
If your cough is accompanied by wheezing, seek medical advice from a doctor or pharmacist, as it may be a sign of a severe underlying medical condition, including asthma, bronchitis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, heart failure and pulmonary oedema.
Prolonged use of Simple Linctus can cause tooth decay.
What are the side effects of Simple Linctus?
If taken above the stated dosage, Simple Linctus can cause a headache, stomach upset and diarrhoea.
There are no known side effects if taken at the correct dosage unless you are allergic to any of the ingredients. Always check the label for the list of ingredients, even if you have taken Simple Linctus before.
An allergic reaction may include swelling of the lips, face, mouth and/or throat or a skin rash. If you experience an allergic reaction, seek immediate medical advice from a doctor immediately.

Do not take Simple Linctus if:
You are allergic to any of the ingredients.
It is not suitable for people with fructose intolerance.
Simple Linctus is intended for oral use only.
Do not use past the expiry date (the last day of the month stated on the bottle).
Do not use if you are pregnant.
Seek advice from a doctor or pharmacist if you are breastfeeding.
Diabetic patients need to check with their pharmacist before taking. Sugar-free varieties of Simple Linctus are available.
Can children use Simple Linctus Paediatric Cough Syrup?
Simple Linctus Paediatric Cough Syrup is suitable for use by children between the ages 1 years old and 12 years old. It must not be used by anyone under the age of 1 years old.

You should store Simple Linctus Paediatric Cough Syrup in a cool dry place, out of reach from children and at room temperature. This product should not be exposed to extreme temperatures or direct sunlight.

If you forget to take your dose of Simple Linctus Paediatric Cough Syrup you should take it as soon as you remember unless it is almost time for your next dose. If it is almost time for your next dose you should skip the dose you just missed and continue as normal. You should never take two doses at once, even if you are making up for a missed dose.
After using Simple Linctus Paediatric Cough Syrup you are unlikely to experience side effects. This is because this cough syrup contains ingredients which are unlikely to interfere with other parts or systems of the body, making it safe to use for kids. If you experience any of the following:
- Redness
- Swelling of skin
- Itching
- Irritation
You may be experiencing an allergic reaction. In this case you should stop using Simple Linctus Paediatric Cough Syrup immediately and seek medical advice from a professional as soon as possible.
