Treatment Information
Overview
NeilMed adult sinus rinse sachets provide relief from sinus congestion. When used with a NeilMed nasal irrigation bottle device, this natural and drug-free solution can effectively alleviate allergy and sinus symptoms, including nasal allergies, congestion, sinus pressure, and nasal stuffiness.
The NeilMed sinus rinse starter kit is easy to use. Moreover, this rinse offers a very soothing and burn-free experience during the process of nasal irrigation. The kit includes a bottle (which is squeezy) and all other important components required for an effective sinus cleanse.
This product is for use by adults as well as children under the supervision of adults.
What’s included in the kit
1x black cap.
1x 240-ml rinse bottle and a tube.
10x Sachets of USP-grade sodium chloride and sodium bicarbonate mixture.
1x leaflet.
Directions
-
Read the instructions in the leaflet that is inside the pack carefully.
-
Wash your hands with clean water.
-
Fill the bottle with clean water or with boiled water that has been cooled.
-
Empty the sachet into the bottle.
-
Stand in front of a sink; bend forward and tilt your head down to a level that is comfortable.
-
Without holding your breath, place the cap comfortably against your nasal passage (nostril) and squeeze the bottle till that time when the solution drains from the opposit nasal passage. But do not swallow it.
-
Blow your nose to remove any excess material inside the nasal passage. However, do it gently and avoid pinching to prevent pressure on your eardrums.
-
Repeat the same process on the opposite nasal passage.
-
At last, clean the bottle; cap it; and tube it thoroughly and dry it completely before storing.
Cautions
-
Do not rinse nasal passages with plain water or unboiled tap water because this will cause a stinging sensation.
-
Do not use the rinse if your nasal passage is completely blocked, if you have some ear infection, blocked ears, or if you have been through ear surgery.
-
If you feel any pressure in the ears, stop the rinse and consult your doctor.
-
Supervise your children when they are using the rinse.
-
Store the rinse in a cool and dry place.
-
Change the device after using it for 3 months.
-
Do not share the rinse with another person. One person should use one rinse.
Carefully read the patient information leaflet before starting your treatment. The patient information can be found here.
