Beechams cold and flu sachets are medicated sachets containing paracetamol and phenylephrine formulated to help with the short term cold, chills, and flu in one hot drink.  Containing both a painkiller and a decongestant, this medicine relieves symptoms like headaches, shivers, congested nose, aches, painful sinuses, catarrh, and sore throat. The flavors like lemon and honey make it more soothing and easy to take.

The sachets are suitable for adults as well as children above age 16.

  • Put the ingredients of a single sachet into a cup or glass.

  • Pour hot water into the cup or glass, but fill it half.

  • Stir the powder well in order to mix it up with water.

  • If you want to add sugar, pour some more hot water and a limited quantity of sugar according to your taste.

  • Your mixture is ready to drink.

  • You can take one sachet every 4 hours.

  • These sachets should not be used more than 6 sachets in one day.

  • It should not be administered to children below the age of 16 years.

Side effects

Like all medicines, it is possible with Beechams cold and flu sachets too that you may get some mild adverse effect. Some of those effects are dizziness, skin rashes, nausea, yellowing of the eyes or skin, rapid heartbeat, loss of appetite, and mouth ulcers.

Each Beechams cold and flu sachet contains:

Active ingredients: Paracetamol 600 mg, Phenylephrine Hydrochloride 10 mg. 

Other ingredients: Ascorbic acid (Vitamin C), Sodium Citrate, Citric Acid, Maize Starch, Sucrose, Sodium Cyclamate, Saccharin Sodium, Lemon Flavour, Honey Flavour, and Caramel (E150).
