Treatment Information
Overview
Canesten 2% is specifically designed to relieve external irritation of the vulva triggered by internal thrush infection.
Canesten 2% contains clotrimazole, an antifungal agent, and targets Candida yeast infections. Thrush, which is caused by a fungus, can occur when the natural pH balance of the vagina is upset, leading to itchiness, irritation, and discharge.
The users of Canesten thrush cream should note that this cream is not intended for treating internal infections. For that, Canesten Pessary 500 mg or Fluconazole 150 mg oral capsules are recommended.
Directions
This cream is recommended for people whose age range is between 16 and 60. As men can also be affected by this condition, they can also use this product.
-
For Women: Apply a thin layer of cream around the vaginal area. Rub the applied cream gently so that the skin may absorb it properly. Use the cream 2 to 3 times a day.
-
For Men: Apply the cream to the end of the penis. Rub it evenly on the skin of the penis. Use it 2 to 3 times daily for about two weeks.
-
Continue using the cream until the symptoms of thrush are vanished. However, do not use the cream for more than a week with the advice of your concerned doctor.
-
If symptoms still continue after the internal treatment, you should consult a pharmacist.
Cautions
-
As this cream is for external use only, do not ingest it.
-
If you swallow it accidentally, take immediate medical help.
-
If you have an allergy to clotrimazole, you should not use this cream.
-
Pregnant and breastfeeding women should use the cream only on the advice of a doctor.
- If there is an underlying medical condition or you have an STI, you should consult a doctor.
