Private prescriptions

The cost of the Private Prescription varies depending on the medication prescribed. To know the price of your medication simply upload your prescription on the prescription information page and a member of our team will contact you with a quote.

After completing the online form you will receive a quote for your prescription medications. If you are happy to proceed we will require the hard copy of your prescription so that we can dispense your prescription and have them delivered to your nomitated address.

A private prescription is valid for 6 months from the date that it was prescribed. Any repeats on your private prescription are valid indefinitely if the first repeat is delivered within 6 months from the date on your prescription. Please note that we do not dispense prescriptions for controlled drugs.

The private prescription must be issued in the UK or an EEA state and the doctor or prescriber must be legally qualified to issue a prescription. The prescription must be signed in ink by the doctor or prescriber who is issuing the prescription. Inorder for a prescription to be valid it must include the following details:

• The patient’s first and last name.
• Patient’s date of birth
• The  issue date of the prescription
• The following details of the prescriber:
• • First and last name
  • Professional qualification
  • Direct contact details
  • Work address
  • Work address
  • Prescriber’s signature
• The following details of the prescribed medication :
• • The common name of the product or brand name
  • Pharmaceutical formulations, like tablets or capsules
  • Quantity to be supplied
  • Strength of the medicine
  • Instructions for use or dosage regime

Except for the controlled drugs, the prescribers may issue private prescriptions for any licensed medication within their practice area. However, writing prescriptions for close family or themselves is not advisable.
