Do you understand that it usually takes 8 weeks of continuous usage for acne treatments to work and that your treatment should not exceed 12 weeks?

Are you aware of the following?

  • When applying gels and creams you should avoid contact with the eyes, mouth or nostrils, and avoid other very sensitive areas of the body;
  • If you experience sensitivity or irritation when applying gels or creams, stop using it and tell your doctor;
  • You should avoid exposure to sunlight and artificial UV light whilst using acne treatment;
  • You should wait at least 2 hours after taking oral acne medication to take indigestion remedies, ulcer healing drugs, quinapril, supplements containing calcium, aluminium, magnesium, zinc or iron;
  • That if you are taking contraceptive pill it may not work properly while you are taking oral acne medication, especially if you have sickness or diarrhoea. An additional ‘barrier’ method of contraception such as condom should be used to make sure you do not get pregnant;
