FAQ

What NHS services do we provide?

NHS Prescription Dispensing

We offer NHS prescription dispensing and repeat dispensing via the NHS electronic dispensing service (EPS).  We operate from our pharmacy at 46 Woodgrange Road, London E7 0QH. We do not provide a face-to-face service and instead deliver the medicines anywhere in England for free.

When prescribed a medicine to treat one or a range of long-term conditions for the first time, we offer New Medicines Service (NMS) by phone, post or email. As part of this service our pharmacist will support you to use the medicine safely and to best effect.

Guidance on safe use of your medicines is available here

Returning unwanted or unused medication

Please contact us on 020 7867 3932 to arrange return of any unwanted or expired medicines. You may also return unwanted or expired medicines to your local community pharmacy. Please note that we cannot accept returns of sharps e.g. needles.

Self-care support and promotion of Healthy Lifestyles

What is an Electronic Prescription Service?

An Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) is a system which allows your GP to send your prescriptions directly to your nominated pharmacy, rather than you having to take a printed prescription to the pharmacy. Once your nominated pharmacy receives your electronic prescription, they can fulfil your prescriptions and have your medicines sent to you as quickly as possible.

Is there a cost for this service?

Using our NHS prescription service is absolutely free. If you usually pay for your NHS prescriptions, you will only pay for the normal NHS fee (currently £9.90 per item), but using our service and delivery will always be free.

How do I nominate Click Pharmacy as my pharmacy?

Nominating Click Pharmacy as your pharmacy is a simple process. You can register with our service by clicking the sign-up button at the top of this page. You will then be asked to answer a few simple questions together with your delivery address. You can start to use our NHS repeat prescription service as soon as you register.

What information will I need to provide when registering?

You will need to provide answers to a few basic questions which includes your name, address, phone number, date of birth and whether you pay for your prescription. Once you have signed up to our service, we will be in touch with you if we require any further information, such as information about payment exemptions or setting up payment for your repeat prescriptions.

Please Note: We may ask for proof of exemption (non-age related) as part of our NHS contractual requirements for example a copy of the medical exemption card, details of Pre-payment card expiry dates etc.

Do I still need to request my prescription from my GP?

Yes, you’ll still need to request your prescription from your GP when you need it in the same way you have always done. Once you have requested your medication, your GP will send your prescription to us electronically so we can fulfil it and have the medicines delivered to you right away.

How are my medicines delivered to me?

For prescriptions received from your GP before 3pm, our pharmacy team will send it out the same day via tracked Royal Mail, depending on stock availability. We always use secure, discreet and unmarked packaging for all of our deliveries.

How long does it take to receive my medication?

If we receive a prescription from your GP before 3pm we will usually send your medicines out the same day. However prescriptions received after 3pm will be dispatched the next working day. We use the tracked Royal Mail service which means that your medications will be with you within 24 - 48 hours after dispatch.

Can I get my medications sent to a different address?

Yes, your medication can be delivered to any address of your choice in the UK. This can be your home, pace of work, to a neighbour or a member of the family. Normally, we will send your medications to the address that’s on your prescription, therefore if you want to get your medication sent to an alternative address you should do so by logging in to your account and updating your delivery address in your dashboard.

Is your service discreet and confidential ?

Our service is completely discreet and confidential. Your medical data and order history is always kept confidential and is only viewable by our pharmacy staff and prescribers. When dispatching your medicine we use discreet packaging without any branding or labels.

We comply with the Data Protection Act and the NHS code on confidentiality. If you want to discuss the records we keep, please give us a call on 020 7867 3932.

I don’t pay for my prescriptions; can I still use your service?

Yes, if you are exempt from paying for your prescriptions you simply select the appropriate option when signing up to our service. If you’re already one of our patients and you no longer need to pay for your prescription then give us a call and a member of our team will be able to update your profile so you no longer have to pay for your prescriptions.

Please Note: We may ask for proof of exemption (non-age related) as part of our NHS contractual requirements for example a copy of the medical exemption card, details of Pre-payment card expiry dates etc.

I pay for my prescriptions; how can I pay for my prescription with you?

Once you have registered with us you can pay for your prescriptions using a debit or credit card once your prescription is ready to be dispatched. Alternatively we can set you up on a recurring billing for repeat prescriptions so that you will automatically be charged for your prescriptions when they are sent out.

Can I speak to a pharmacist to answer any queries I may have?

Yes! For any medication query or if you need help with managing your medication our UK based pharmacists are available over the phone during usual opening hours (9am – 6pm, Mon-Fri). Alternatively you can send them an email anytime of the day and they will look to respond before the end of the next working day.
