Spedra, also known by the generic name avanafil, is part of a group of medicines called PDE5 inhibitors, which are used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED). It works by relaxing the muscles in the spongy tissue of the penis which allows blood to flow freely upon sexual stimulation, causing an erection. Spedra can take effect within 15 minutes in some men and can be effective for up to six hours.

It is important to note that there’s no need to worry about embarrassing or unwanted erections with Spedra as the drug does not take effect unless you are sexually stimulated.

Can I buy Spedra online?

Spedra can be purchased online after you have completed a short medical assessment. Your answers will be checked over by our doctors and they will confirm whether this is the right medication for you or not based on a variety of factors such as health issues and any current medication you are taking.

Once you have been given a prescription, you need not fill in this questionnaire again and can purchase repeat treatments at any time. Your order will be sent directly to your home via a next day delivery service.

Why choose Spedra?

The avanafil contained in Spedra works in the same manner as other ED medicines, such as Viagra, Cialis and Levitra. However, what sets this medicine apart from similar products is the fact that it is more targeted and faster acting. Most patients experience an erection as soon as 15 minutes after taking the medication. This compares with the usual minimum of 30 minutes in other ED drugs. By taking this treatment you could:

  • Experience longer and harder erections
  • Achieve a strong, vigorous erection in a shorter time
  • Achieve sexual fulfilment
How effective is Spedra

In studies, Spedra has been shown to create a significant improvement with their erectile dysfunction. In fact, two-thirds of participants were able to have intercourse within 15 minutes of taking their treatment which is faster than other available ED medications which can take anywhere between 30 and 60 minutes to be effective. Improvements were observed across all three available doses of Spedra, 50mg, 100mg and 200mg, and this continued on a long term basis.

What dose should I choose?

Spedra comes in tablet form and it should not be taken more than once a day. Your GP or Click Pharmacy doctor will consider any current medication and how they may interact with Spedra as well as your age, how severe your erectile dysfunction is and any other issues you may have had with other ED medications in the past.

There are three levels of dosage and some men respond well to the lower dosage whilst others may need the higher option. In some cases, if a patient already takes a medication which could interact with this ED treatment, they may be started off on the lower dose and have it upped overtime where necessary.

Dosage instructions are provided with the treatment and you can consult your doctor or our team at Click Pharmacy for further advice.

How should I take Spedra?

For the best results, take one tablet around 30 minutes before engaging in sexual activity. The treatment can be taken with or without food, but it may be faster acting on an empty stomach. The positive effects can last for between four and six hours.

How does Spedra work?

Spedra inhibits an enzyme called PDE5. This acts on cGMP, which is a substance that regulates blood flow to the penis. In simpler terms, it relaxes the muscles in the veins that supply blood to the penis, increasing blood flow into the erectile tissue and making an erection possible during sexual stimulation.

It is important to note that you will not achieve an erection with this form of treatment without some form of arousal.

What is the difference between Spedra & Viagra

It has been found that Spedra works fractionally faster than Viagra, especially when taken on an empty stomach though it works for around the same length of time of around 4 hours.

What are the side effects of Spedra?

The most common side effects associated with Spedra are headaches, facial flushing, stomach pain, indigestion, burping, acid reflux, back pain, muscle aches, sore throat and a stuffy or runny nose. These symptoms usually go away after a few hours. In a small minority of cases, more serious side effects may be experienced such as priapism which is an erection which will not subside. This is very rare but if your erection lasts over 6 hours it’s vital to get medical support right away as it can cause longterm damage and future issues with achieving erections.

If you would like any more information about this treatment and any potential side effects, you can speak to your doctor or get in touch with our experts by email or phone.

Can I take other medications with Spedra

There are a number of medications which can interact negatively with Spedra, either stopping it from working effectively or causing a dangerous reaction. Let your doctor know if you are taking any other medications, both with prescription and without, plus vitamins and herbal supplements. ‘Nitrate’ medicines, taken for medical issues such as angina are especially important to mention, as are other treatments you may be using, or have tried using, for erectile dysfunction.

Can I take other ED medications with Spedra

You will generally be prescribed one type of erectile dysfunction treatment at a time but if you find one does not work effectively for you then you can discuss this with your GP or doctor at Click Pharmacy and try a different variety.

If you have any doubts about how to take your ED medication, then read the information sheet which comes with your treatment or book a free appointment with us online.

Can you drink Alcohol with Spedra?

Spedra can lower blood pressure which is generally not an issue unless you already have an ongoing medical issue with your blood pressure. Unfortunately, alcohol has the same effect and as such, when taken together, you can feel dizzy, light headed and in more extreme situations it could cause you to faint.
