These are the most common causes of diarrhoea:

    • Ingestion of Infected/contaminated food or water

    • Drugs like antibiotics, cancer medications, and antacids containing magnesium

    • Food allergies and sensitivities, which are problems digesting certain ingredients or foods. An example is lactose intolerance.

    • Crohn's disease

    • irritable bowel syndrome

Some people also get diarrhoea after stomach surgery, because sometimes the surgeries can cause food to move through your digestive system more quickly.

    • Stomach cramps or pain in the abdomen

    • Frequent need to pass out faeces

    • Lack of bowel control

    • If the diarrhoea is caused by a virus or bacteria, then other symptoms include fever, cold/chills, and bloody stools.
