For 6-12 months old babies, give two 5ml spoonfuls.
While Woodward’s gripe water is unlikely to cause an allergic reaction, as with any new food or drink introduced to a baby, parents and carers should watch out for any symptoms of an allergic reaction such as itchiness, watery eyes, hives, swelling of the tongue or lips, trouble swallowing or breathing, vomiting or diarrhoea.

Woodward’s Gripe Water should be given to babies when they cry. Woodward’s gripe water should not be provided more than 6 times in 24 hours. If, after giving 6 doses of Woodward’s gripe water, a baby does not relax, then speak to a paediatrician or doctor.

When shouldn’t I take Woodward’s Gripe Water?
Woodward’s gripe water should not be given to babies who suffer from impaired kidney function or hypersensitivity to hydroxybenzoate. Babies with rare hereditary problems such as fructose intolerance must not be given Woodward’s gripe water.
