Daktarin Aktiv Cream has been developed to assist deal with athlete’s foot. The lively ingredient - miconazole nitrate works by homicide the fungus that causes the infection.
Daktarin Aktiv Cream is used to treat a fungal infection known as athlete's foot.
The active ingredient in Daktarin Aktiv Cream is miconazole. This ingredient is effective at destructing the fungi cell membrane to prevent the infection from replicating and growing.
No, you do not require a prescription to purchase Daktarin Aktiv Cream. However if you are unsure whether Daktarin Aktiv Cream is right for you, you are welcome to book a free consultation with one of our medicine experts.
You should apply Daktarin Aktiv Cream to the infected areas twice a day, morning and evening.

You should not share towels as this may increase the chances of passing on the fungi infection to someone else. After thoroughly washing and drying the infected areas you should apply a thin even coat of Daktarin Aktiv Cream.
The active ingredient, miconazole, creates small holes in the cell membrane. The cell membrane keeps all the bacteria locked into the cell, by creating holes you are allowing the bacteria to leave the cell, killing the fungal infection.
After all symptoms of athlete's foot have disappeared, you should continue to use the cream for a further 7 days. This is to ensure any remaining strains of the fungal infection have been removed out of their cells.

1 dose should be applied each morning and night.
To apply Daktarin Aktiv, perform the following steps:
1) Wash the infected area.
2) Dry well - do not share a towel with others as you may risk spreading the infection.
3) Apply the cream to the infected area and surrounding skin.
4)Wash your hands carefully after applying the cream to avoid spreading the infection to other parts of the body or other people. Similarly, clothing which comes into contact with the infected areas, such as socks, should be washed and changed frequently.
Athletes foot is a fungal infection that usually develops between the toes. It is most common for people whose feet are sweaty while wearing tight-fitting shoes.
Daktarin Aktiv contains the ingredient miconazole. Miconazole is an antifungal used to treat fungal infections such as athletes foot. Miconazole works by interfering with the fungi and yeast cell membranes. It works by preventing the production of ergosterol which is a crucial element of fungal cell membranes. This disrupts the membrane and causes holes to appear.
The membrane stops unwanted substances entering the cells and stops the content from leaking out. When the miconazole makes holes in the membranes, the contents leak out, and the fungi die.
Daktarin Aktiv should be applied twice a day. Once the symptoms have disappeared, continue to use the cream for a further 7 days. This will help prevent the re-occurrence of the infection.
