What is Compeed Blister Plasters

Compeed Blister Plaster is a hydrocolloid dressing designed to help with blisters forming on the feet from rubbing against shoes. Blisters may form on the feet either with new shoes, shoes that don’t fit well, or after walking, hiking, or running for a long time. They form when the fabric is rubbing repeatedly on the same spot, thus damaging the skin and forming a fluid-filled bubble. This type of dressing looks like a plaster, but it does much more than just cover the wound. It allows the wound to heal faster by absorbing the moisture that has formed, by cushioning the wound, and by protecting it and keeping it clean.

Can I buy Compeed Blister Plaster online?

The small convenient mixed pack contains 2x medium size, 2x small size, and 1x toe size. The larger convenient mixed pack contains 4x medium size, 4x small size, and 2x toe size. Both packs come in a compact and rigid plastic container that is easy to carry around with you when hiking or travelling.

How Effective Are Compeed Blister Plasters?

Compeed Blister Plasters are dressings that look like a plaster. However, this plaster does much more than just cover the wound. It allows the wound to heal faster by absorbing the moisture that has formed, by cushioning the wound, and by protecting it and keeping it clean. It is thicker than a standard plaster, and so this gel-like substance provides instant relief from pain and creates protection of the wound from further damage.

Fluid form in a blister in order to protect the skin from further damage. This encourages regeneration, repair, and new growth of the skin beneath. Compeed Blister Plasters provide a moist healing environment while relieving the pain and pressure caused by blistering of the skin. These plasters also prevent the expansion of the lesion and reduce the risk of infection through the blister. Its main objective is to keep the skin from breaking at the site of blister formation. Keeping the skin intact will improve the healing time and help to prevent infection. It allows the natural protection of the skin for as long as possible while healing is underway. The plasters may be used whether the blister is intact or has burst.

What dose should I choose?

Compeed Blister Plasters are available in one dose but come in different sizes. You need to choose the size of the plaster that will improve the application to the area of the skin which has been damaged. Since you will still be walking and wearing shoes while your blister heals, the plaster will adhere to the skin well and withstand any rubbing and movement. That is why it is vital to stick the plaster to skin that is clean and where creams or lotions have not been recently applied.

How should I use Compeed Blister Plaster?

First, make sure that the area around the blister is as clean as possible and preferably dry. If you have applied any lotions to the area, it is best to clean or wipe them off to improve adherence of the plaster.

Choose the size that is appropriate for the area you are treating. The large plaster should be used for the back of the heel and larger blisters. Smaller plasters should be used for the toes so that these can wrap around the toe and stay in place for longer.

Remove the bottom paper and do not touch the adhesive side of the plaster. Apply gently over the blister, ensuring complete contact with the skin around the blister. Press gently and remove the top cover. As the plaster absorbs water, it will start to harden and turn white. Compeed Blister Plaster is waterproof and can be kept on for several days while the healing occurs. Once the white part reaches the edges of the plaster, or it starts to peel off on its own, gently remove the plaster to reveal healed skin.

What is the difference between Compeed Blister Plaster and Elastoplast Plasters?
