Beconase Aqueous Nasal spray is a steroid spray designed to treat allergic rhinitis symptoms of a runny nose, sneezing, nasal obstruction, sneezing or itching. Its active ingredient is beclometasone dipropionate, which is a corticosteroid that works by reducing swelling, inflammation hence relieving an itchy runny or decongested nose.
Beconase Aqueous Nasal Spray is a steroid spray used to treat and prevent symptoms of a runny nose and nasal obstruction.
The active ingredient in Beconase Aqueous Nasal Spray is beclomethasone dipropionate. This is a steroid used to reduce swelling and provide relief to a decongested nose.
Beconase Aqueous Nasal Spray is not suitable for children under the age of six years old.
Beconase Aqueous Nasal Spray should be sprayed twice into each nostril twice a day. You should not exceed a set of 8 sprays within 24 hours (4 sprays per nostril).
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult with a pharmacist before using Beconase Aqueous Nasal Spray.
If your Beconase Aqueous Nasal Spray is not working, it may be blocked and require cleaning.
To clean your Beconase Aqueous Nasal Spray you should remove the white nozzle and soak it in warm water for a few minutes. After a few minutes rinse the nozzle and place it back on the spray.
If you start to feel better you may be able to alternate your dose to only one spray in each nostril twice a day. However before lowering your dose you should always consult with a GP or pharmacist.
You should not use a pin or any sharp object to clean and unblock the nozzle of your spray. This is to ensure the size of the nozzle does not enlarge and damage the way the spray works in any way.
If you forget to take your dose of Beconase Aqueous Nasal Spray you should skip the dose you just missed and continue as normal.
Beconase Aqueous Nasal Spray uses its active ingredient to prevent and treat seasonal allergies such as hay fever.
Beconase Aqueous Nasal Spray should be used regularly, even if you notice an improvement earlier you should complete your treatment as advised by your GP or pharmacist.
You should not use someone else’s Beconase Aqueous Nasal Spray as it can cause cross-contamination.

Beconase Aqueous Nasal Spray is not suitable for children under the age of six years. Hence, for children above six years and adults, spray twice into each nostril two times a day. Each spray contains the strength of 50 micrograms of the active ingredient beclometasone dipropionate, therefore do not exceed a dose of 8 sprays in a period of 24 hours. That is four sprays per nostril.
Use the spray every day and regularly, for a maximum period of 12 weeks.
As your symptoms improve, the doctor may advise you to reduce the dosage to one spray per nostril, twice a day. Do not use a higher dose than the doctor recommends that even if you do not see any improvement. The doctor might suggest you increase the dose to the first dose if symptoms get worse.
Each unit (22gm) of Beconase Aqueous Nasal Spray contains 200 doses.
Shake the 22gm bottle of Beconase Aqueous Nasal Spray and take off the dust cap.
Prime the spray by pumping it a few times until a fine mist is produced.
Blow your nose before spraying. Close one nostril using your forefinger and put the nozzle in your other nostril. The nozzle should be facing away from the opposite nostril.
Breathe in gently then press the collar of the spray with your fingers until a fine mist is released. Breathe out through the mouth and repeat this process for the other nostril.
Once you’re done wipe the nozzle the replace the dust cap to seal.
Each 22mg of Beconase Aqueous Nasal Spray delivers 200 sprays.

Beconase Aqueous Nasal Spray may cause allergic reactions to a few people. These reactions should be reported to the doctor immediately as they occur for they can be life-threatening if left untreated. The allergy symptoms could range from having difficulty breathing, wheezing non-stop to swelling around the throat or face.
Very rare side effects cataracts, glaucoma or damage to your nose.
Prolonged use of this treatment in high doses, can also affect steroid production in your body. In children, this could inhibit normal growth thus causing them to grow a bit slower than their peers.

Beconase Aqueous Nasal Spray requires a prescription while Beconase Hayfever does not.
