What is Apercap Peppermint Oil Capsules (0.2ml)

Apercap peppermint oil capsules are an effective and reliable treatment for the reduction of uncomfortable symptoms that are associated with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). These include:

  • Bloating
  • Trapped wind
  • Diarrhoea
  • Constipation
  • Stomach cramps

Each Apercap peppermint oil capsule is specially coated to stop it dissolving in the stomach, allowing it to reach the part of the gut where it is needed, intact. The peppermint oil is then released into the bowel, where it acts to relax the muscle spasms that cause IBS.

How should I use Apercap Peppermint Oil Capsules?

It is recommended that you take one or two Apercap peppermint capsules three times per day, depending on the severity of your symptoms.

The capsules must always be swallowed whole with a drink of water.

Do not break or chew the capsules.

Do not take your Apercap peppermint oil capsules immediately after food.

You should also not take any other indigestion remedy within two hours before and after taking an Apercap peppermint oil capsule.

If your symptoms do persist or get any worse, you should consult your doctor.

How do Apercap Peppermint Oil Capsules work?

Peppermint oil acts to relax muscle spasms in the wall of the bowel. When the peppermint oil is absorbed into the bowel, it will cause the overacting muscles to relax and contract less frequently, thereby relieving the associated symptoms of Irritable Bowel Syndrome.

How effective are Apercap Peppermint Oil Capsules?

Apercap peppermint oil capsules are an effective treatment to bring relief to the uncomfortable and often painful symptoms of IBS, which include bowel cramps, trapped wind and bloating, as well as diarrhoea and constipation.

In addition to taking Apercap peppermint oil capsules, patients can help to treat their symptoms of IBS by making certain lifestyle changes, for example, modifying their diets to avoid certain foods that are known to aggravate IBS. This could be dairy products for some patients, but it will differ from person to person.

It is also widely considered that taking regular exercise can help to relieve some of the symptoms of IBS, for example, a brisk walk or cycling.

As well as attempting to lower stress levels through exercise, meditation, and certain behavioural changes may also help to ease any symptoms that you may be experiencing as a result of IBS.

Can I buy Apercap Peppermint Oil Capsules online?

Yes. Apercap peppermint oil capsules do not require a prescription and are, therefore, readily available to purchase online via retailers such as Click Pharmacy, who will deliver to your preferred address. However, to ensure that this product is the best choice for your needs, we will ask that you answer a few short questions before we can process your order.

What dose should I choose?

Adults should take one Apercap peppermint capsule three times per day.

If your symptoms feel more severe, then you may increase the dose to two capsules, taken three times per day.

Apercap peppermint oil capsules can be taken until your symptoms are resolved. This is usually within a two to three-week time period, but sometimes, in more persistent cases, this can take anywhere up to two to three months.

If, after a two to three month period, you feel that your symptoms have got worse or new symptoms have appeared, then you should consult your doctor, who may investigate the possibility of further underlying health issues.

If you accidentally forget to take your Apercap peppermint oil capsules, then you should take your next dose when it is due. Do not double up your dose.

The capsules should only be taken when required and when your symptoms start to flare-up, and you can continue to take them until your symptoms settle down. This is typically within one to two weeks.

Apercap peppermint oil capsules are not suitable for children under the age of 18 years.

Before taking Apercap peppermint oil capsules, you should speak to your doctor or pharmacist if you are pregnant, are planning on becoming pregnant, or think that you may be pregnant. You should also advise if you are breastfeeding or planning to breastfeed.

Please read all of the instructions thoroughly before using the product and ensure they are correctly followed. You will find instructions in the packaging when the product arrives.

How long do I use Apercap Peppermint Oil Capsules for before I notice a difference?

Apercap peppermint oil capsules should only be taken when required and when your symptoms start to flare up.

You can continue to take this medication until your symptoms resolve. Once your IBS has settled down, stop taking the capsules (this is typically within one to two weeks).
